Manuel Ochoa

Additional charges have been brought against a man who was arrested after trying to flee from authorities last week in Minburn.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Manuel Ochoa of Perry had three felony counts added to his original charges stemming from an incident last Wednesday. Ochoa was pulled over on the north end of Minburn on Highway 169 for speeding. He attempted to run from deputies, but was subdued with a taser. He was initially charged with three misdemeanors for the incident, but following an investigation he had felony drug charges added. The felony charges include: possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a class B felony; failure to affix a drug stamp, a class D felony; and possession of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony.

He also faces misdemeanor charges for fourth degree theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying weapons, interference with official acts, and driving while license suspended. He will have his preliminary hearing on May 29th, and is currently being held in Dallas County Jail on $30,000 cash only bond.
