A popular seasonal eatery in Perry is open once again, as the caboose-based El Tren taco truck recently resumed business.

The Calderon family operates the restaurant in Caboose Park, through an agreement with the City. Per their lease, the Calderons pay $75 per month to operate out of the caboose, and they also give the City 5% of their gross sales. City Administrator Sven Peterson says it’s the same agreement they’ve had the last couple years, though most of the profits thus far have gone towards improvements and maintenance for the facility. He believes this year the City should start seeing some cash flow from the popular taco truck.

El Tren is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
