Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Fort Dodge man Wednesday afternoon after he led them on a short foot chase that resulted in the suspect being tased.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Manuel Ochoa was pulled over on the north end of Minburn on Highway 169 for going more than 20-miles-per-hour over the speed limit. Ochoa then attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was subdued with a taser by a deputy. He was treated at the scene by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services, then transported to Dallas County Hospital for further evaluation.
After he was cleared medically, Ochoa was then transported to Dallas County Jail on several misdemeanor charges, including: driving while license suspended, carrying weapons, and interference with official acts. He was also arrested on an existing warrant in the county for a probation violation, with the original charge being a controlled substance violation. Additionally, he was cited for speeding and not having valid insurance. He is currently being held on $5,000 cash only bond.
