There’s just one more meet left on the Iowa high school track & field schedule and that’s the Coed State Meet May 17-18-19 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Greene County qualified eighth events for girls and four for boys and Raccoon Valley Radio and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com will have updates from Drake Stadium all three days.

Greene County girls’ head coach Derek Merk and boys’ head coach Chad Morton both saw their athletes turn in numerous personal best and season best performances recently. Both coaches told Raccoon Valley Radio they were pleased and proud with how the Greene County athletes performed at the Class 2A Coed State Qualifying Meet in Manson on May 10.

Greene County qualified sophomores Colby Kafer in the 200 meter dash and long jump, and Carter Morton in the high jump and 400 meter low hurdles on the boys’ side.

The Greene County girls qualified freshmen Brianna Osterson and Lilly Muir in the long jump, senior Laurin Lyons in the shot put, senior Megan Durbin in the high jump and the 200 meter dash, and two relays. Osterson, Muir, and Durbin are joined by junior Melanie Doran in the 4 x 400 meter relay. Doran, senior Sydney Schiltz, Muir, and sophomore Izzy Bravard were on the shuttle hurdle relay, and Doran, Osterson, Durbin, and freshman Makayla Kafer made up the 4 x 200 meter relay.
