Libraries across Guthrie County are getting ready for summer reading programs. The Stuart Public Library is no different as they are gearing up for their program next month. The theme for this year’s program is the same as the state theme: “Libraries Rock!”

Library Director Lisa Sherman wants to remind children and their parents about some important details to this year’s program schedule. “Number one, we have sign-up for the summer reading program. That will be Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd during normal library hours. Following that, the very next week, we are going to start in with our reading programs. I’ve had to change the date or our reading program. It was going to be Tuesdays and I was so excited about that. But, due to staff changes, we are going to have it on Mondays.”

There will be several events in the month of June to accompany the program. The library is encouraging participants to read a minimum of ten hours during the four-week stretch to receive a free book.
