Today is the last day to donate items to this year’s Greene County Medical Center’s Auxiliary Garage Sale.
The annual fundraiser starts with a “sneak peek” Thursday with a $3 admission charge from 5 to 7pm at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. Then Friday and Saturday, admission is free and it will take place from 9am to 7pm and 9 to 11am respectively. The Auxiliary is also accepting donations of items through today from 9am to 6pm. New or used items, along with clothes in good, wearable condition, will be accepted. Items that won’t be accepted include: televisions, large appliances or computer items. Some of the featured items include: desks, cupboards, book shelves and lots of of items from the medical center’s remodeling.
All proceeds will go back to the Auxiliary to purchase a 3D Mammography machine and scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors. Auxiliary Liaison Hollie Roberts says the Auxiliary made ten-percent profit from the Collective Goods Sale in March from $7,000 in sales. She’s hoping the garage sale will continue that kind of effort.
