A Casey man will soon go to trial for felony drug possession in Adair County.

According to court documents, 54-year-old Ronald Emgarten’s trial for a Class D Felony for possession of a controlled substance, 3rd or subsequent offense, will begin on June 27th in Greenfield. He was also charged with a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a traffic stop conducted on April 8th at mile marker 82 on Interstate-80. The driver was pulled over and given a separate charge, while Emgarten was a passenger. After the driver was cited, Officer William Wedemeyer conducted a separate search and found a bag of methamphetamine and two smoking devices in the passenger side air vents.

His pre-trial date is scheduled for May 29th at 9:30am. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
