The ACGC golf teams may have gotten off to a slow start to the season, but they’re certainly starting to hit their stride as they inch towards sectionals next month. Individually, Haley Sheeder received 5th place honors at the Woodward-Granger Invitational last Thursday. Her score of 101 after 18 holes was actually tied for fourth best, but she received 5th place due to a tiebreaker.
Other scores from the Chargers include: Kena Baier (115), Jessica Stringer (131), and SallyJo Geckler 147. The Chargers placed sixth out of six scoring teams with a quartet total of 494. Individually, Ogden’s Maranda Wheelock won the meet with an 89, just two strokes ahead of Perry’s Alyssa Kruger. On the team side, Panorama and Ballard tied for first, but Panorama won on a tiebreak.
The Chargers continue their season today with the West Central Activities Conference Invitational featuring: Des Moines Christian, Earlham, Madrid, Ogden, Panorama, West Central Valley, Woodward-Granger, and Van Meter.
