Jake CretsingerA Waukee man was sentenced to prison in Greene County District Court for shooting a gun in Jefferson.

According to court documents, 19-year-old Jake Allen Cretsinger pled guilty to Class D Felonies for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and going armed with intent, and an aggravated misdemeanor for carrying weapons. Judge Joseph McCarville ordered Cretsinger to prison for a period not to exceed five years per felony charge and two years for the misdemeanor charge. The sentences are to run concurrently.

The sentence stems from an incident on December 3, 2017. Cretsigner and another suspect, Adam James Stilson also of Waukee, were driving a female Jefferson resident home from Coon Rapids. An argument ensued with a group of people near the residence of the 500 block of West Lincoln Way and Cretsinger shot several gunshot rounds near the group. No one was hurt in the incident.

Court documents show that Cretsinger was also ordered to pay victim restitution and court costs. Cretsinger was originally charged with a Class C Felony for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanors for harassment, reckless use of a firearm, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Stilson has also pled guilty to a Class D Felony for intimation with a dangerous weapon and his sentence hearing is scheduled for June 8th.
