St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Perry has filled its vacant principal position. School officials announced Friday morning that Kandice Roethler was hired as the new principal.

Roethler comes to St. Pat’s from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Des Moines, where she had served as both a teacher and assistant principal. She will succeed current Principal Eddie Diaz, who announced earlier this month that he would not be renewing his contract with the school. Diaz will serve the rest of the current school year, and Roethler will take over as principal following that. The school believes Roethler will help them continue to build on their past successes, while also helping them grow stronger into the future.
