As if playing without their two-time State Tournament qualifier wasn’t enough, the Greene County High School girls’ golf team had more misfortune on Tuesday. Senior Rachael Danielson is recovering from knee surgery and hasn’t played a competitive round yet. Coach Heath Telleen told Raccoon Valley Radio that one of the players scheduled to make the trip to the Ames Golf & Country Club became ill just before the team left and did not make the trip. Then, during the round another suffered a back issue.
Gilbert shot 163 to win the nine hole event handily and was led by sophomore Britta Snyder, who shot an amazing 31. Roland-Story was next at 198 and the Rams shot 231.
The Rams were led by Ellie Madson at 50. She was followed by Katelynn McColley at 52, Maria Block 55, and 74 from Jordan Davis.
