The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The Board discussed a budget amendment proposal for fiscal year 2017. The proposal covers general discrepancies from several departments. The largest amendment, approximately $108,000, would cover the cost of a skid loader for the County Transfer Station. The funds covering these amendments are being transferred from other inter-departmental accounts or from the County’s reserve funds. The Board approved the notice and set the public hearing on the amendments for May 8th at 10am.
County Engineer Josh Sebern then reviewed the Whiterock Conservancy traffic study. The study concluded that the amount of traffic actually decreased from 2012-2016 by about 20 vehicles. Sebern says that while Fig Avenue, the entrance to the conservancy off of Highway 141, is a busy road, he believes there are more active roads in the Coon Rapids area. Sebern also determined that the crash and complaint history is not sufficient to warrant changes to road structure or speed limits. The Engineering Department did however add two stop signs to approach roads, and recommends removing some trees around the area.
The Board concluded the meeting by approving three Auditor’s reports for fees collected.
