Next week, the Stuart Public Library will be hosting a series of events to help get people’s finances in check. The library will be celebrating Money Smart Week with programs next Monday-Thursday. Topics for the week include student loan repayment, retirement planning, and college financial planning. There will also be a financial program geared towards children on Wednesday.
Assistant Librarian Lacey Partlow explains the motivation behind this series. “In the library we deal with a lot of financial questions which you don’t typically think about. It’s kind of a combination of things that we see here and things people have asked us to put on. Just kind of taking our patrons interests and questions and trying to find programs that will address those needs better than we can ourselves.”
Each program will last about an hour and begins at 7pm, with the exception being the children’s program, which starts at 4:30pm. Monday and Wednesday’s programs will be at the library, while Tuesday and Thursday’s will be in the Stuart City Hall Council Chambers.
