Last weekend’s voluntary egg recall from Rose Acre Farms affects over 200 million eggs across the country. Thankfully, none of those eggs originated from the Stuart or Guthrie Center locations.
The recall was issued due to the risk of salmonella from eggs traced back to Rose Acre’s Hyde County farm in North Carolina. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports the eggs were distributed to several states on the east coast, mid Atlantic, and Colorado. According to the report, 22 illnesses have been linked to the recall.
Raccoon Valley Radio contacted the local plants for comment, but none was given at this time.
