ADM Tigers

An undefeated nonconference foe is the next opponent on the schedule for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers soccer programs. The Tiger boys and girls teams will split up for a variety contest against the Gilbert Tigers with the boys game taking place at ADM Stadium in Adel while the girls game will compete in Gilbert.

The No. 11 ADM boys soccer team returns home after registering a 1-0 win last Thursday on the road versus Knoxville. Senior Eli Schwarzkopf scored the Tigers’ lone goal midway through the first half. Senior keeper TJ Klocke enters tonight’s game with back-to-back shutouts to begin the season, recording five saves last week versus Knoxville. The Class 1A’s No.3 Gilbert Tigers will give ADM their toughest challenge to date, posting a 4-0 record while outscoring their opponents, 12-3, this spring.

One hundred minutes of game time wasn’t enough to decide last Thursday’s nonconference match between the No. 3 ADM Tigers girls soccer team and the #5 Norwalk Lady Warriors. The score was tied 1-1 before the match was sent to sudden death penalty kicks. Norwalk edged ADM in penalty kicks made, 5-4. ADM’s regulation goal came off the foot of freshman Ashlyn Watt halfway through the first half from just outside the 18-yard box. Scoring penalty kick goals for ADM was senior Izzy LaFollette, sophomore Delaney Barton, Watt, and junior Emma Davis. Class 1A No. 8 Gilbert is undefeated in three contests so far this spring, outscoring their opponents, 25-0.

Both varsity games will kick off at 7 p.m. tonight with the boys game playing at ADM Stadium in Adel, and the girls contest taking place in Gilbert.
