The Guthrie Center School Board met in regular session Monday.
Superintendent Steve Smith informed the Board that a plan of distribution for the 1.5% agreement to teacher benefits has not been finalized. Smith will be meeting with the district’s negotiation team soon. A special meeting is likely needed to accept the final proposal.

The School Budget Reserve Committee (SBRC) cash reserve is at $96,763 and other cash reserves total $185,000. They also approved the budget guarantee resolution for property tax levies.
Other approved action items include: an audit report ending June 30th, 2017; the 2018-2019 school calendar as presented, with a start date of August 23rd and an end date of May 23rd, pending Adair-Casey Board approval; extending insurance coverage on camps and clinics; and an administrative services agreement with the State of Iowa.
The meeting concluded with discussion on last month’s joint session with the Adair-Casey Board.
