The registration deadline for several Greene County Clover Kids programs is fast approaching.
Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Kayla Willms says first through third graders can get involved in the traditional Clover Kids program, along with Cattle Kids, Birds and Bunnies Club, Puppy Pack Club and their newest addition. “This year we are adding the Goat Kid Club. So if there’s any first through third graders interested in showing goats at the county fair, we have a program for that now.”
Cost for each Clover Kids Club is $10 and some of them start meeting later this month. Willms describes why she continues to expand the Clover Kids program to include even more opportunities for youngsters.
“It’s good to spark their interest early. We want to be able to promote 4-H at a younger age to try and get them involved to become 4-H’ers as a fourth grader. Sometimes they may not know about 4-H when they’re younger and so this is a good segway into 4-H to join.”
Registration deadline is tomorrow. Call 386-2138 or stop by the Extension office in Jefferson to sign up.
