Last Saturday was one of the most memorable days in the life of West Central Valley senior Billy Larsen. Hours before his final high school prom, Larsen joined his family and friends at the West Central Valley High School for a college signing ceremony where he committed to playing college football this fall at Graceland University in Lamoni. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke to Larsen’s high school football coach, Eric Addy, on Monday’s Karl Chevrolet of Stuart Guthrie County PM Sports Page. Addy told us the Yellowjackets are bringing Larsen in to play wide receiver and says he’s put in a lot of work to get to this opportunity. “Billy still had to develop a lot when I got him going into his sophomore season,” Addy said, “He trusted us, myself, the coaching staff, and his teammates from day one and worked on better himself to ultimately make our team better.”
Larsen helped increase West Central Valley’s win total by one game each year under Addy, closing his high school career with a 3-6 overall record. The Graceland University Football team finished the 2017 season with a 1-10 record as a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Graceland University is based in Lamoni, five miles north of the Missouri border.
