The Perry School Board will convene Monday evening for their April regular session.
The meeting will start with a public hearing to discuss the fiscal year 2019 budget. That will be followed by consideration of a resolution approving the budget, including the tax levy rate of $21.53 per $1,000 of assessed value. The Board will then consider a memorandum of understanding between the high school and the Al Exito organization, which is a Hispanic student leadership program, about supporting the GEAR UP program.
They will also consider resolutions to reduce the teacher workforce by terminating four contracts at the end of the school year. The move is to help the District overcome $650,000 in deficit spending. Other items on the agenda include: approval of a high school band and vocal music fundraiser; an out-of-state trip request for the research and design class; a cooperative food purchasing agreement; approval of contracts for administrators, teachers, and staff; a “Plan of Success” room; and a copier purchase and maintenance agreement. Finally, the Board will consider a resolution to be submitted to the state legislature regarding the rollback off the backfill.
The meeting will be held Monday at 6 p.m. in the high school’s Brady Library.
