Greene County will be expecting snowfall later today.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Greene County. The advisory will be in effect starting 1pm Sunday through 7am Monday. During this time, residents should expect snowfall accumulations as high as four-inches. Winds could gust as high as 25-miles-per-hour. Due to the high winds, visibility could be limited, especially along the Highway 30 corridor. Snow could mix with freezing rain later Sunday night into Monday morning. Expect slick road conditions with the advisory.
Jefferson residents are reminded of the city’s snow ordinance. The ordinance goes into effect when there is at least one-half-inch of snow or more. Vehicles cannot be parked on city streets or alleyways once the ordinance is in effect until plow crews have cleared the streets of snow from curb to curb and the snow event has stopped.
A reminder to motorists, if plow crews are on the road, please give them plenty of room to clear the roads of snow and ice.
