The first Greene County High School boys’ soccer season is off to a 2-0 start. Coach Carl Behne’s Rams were 4-3 winners in overtime vs. Humboldt on April 2, and followed that up with a 10-0 Mercy Rule win over Carroll High on April 5. Both matches were in Grand Junction.

Head Coach Carl Behne told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s pleased to be 2-0, but there are certainly things he’d like to see get better. “Crispness for one thing on our passes, especially around the midfield. Sometimes we’re trying to do a little too much. I like the creativity, I really do, but we still need to make sure we have our head on a swivel and know where we’re at. Then, for whatever reason we’ve got a little work to do with our throw-ins, so we’re going to spend some time and invite the younger boys over and teach these guys a good little lesson on throw-ins, but other than that, I really can’t complain a whole lot.”

The first road trip is next on the schedule for the Greene County boys. They’ll play at Nodaway Valley on Tuesday, April 10, before hosting Ballard (Huxley) in Grand Junction on Thursday, April 10.
