Unfavorable weather conditions didn’t stop the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers golf programs from opening their 2018 season Thursday. The Tiger golfers visited the Indian Creek Country Club in Nevada to take part in the Nevada Co-Ed Invitational. The 18-hole event featured golfers from ADM, Nevada, Ballard, and North Polk.
The ADM boys golf team finished second overall with a collective score of 331 strokes. Nevada carded the top three lowest individual scores, running away with the team title with 306 strokes. Senior Micah Moyer highlighted ADM with a fifth place overall finish, completing the course in 77 strokes. Nevada’s Kyle Linder was the meet medalist with 75 strokes. Other ADM scores include Adam O’Connor carding an 81, Grant Curran scoring 84, and Matthew West registering 89 strokes.
The ADM girls golf program didn’t have enough golfer to post a team score at the Nevada Co-Ed Invitational. Junior Morgan Wagnor topped ADM’s scorecard with 110 strokes. Other scores include Alyssa Pingel with 119 strokes, Grace McElvain at 129 shots, and Liv Rickert carding 131 strokes.
Weather permitting, the ADM golf programs will split up and compete in Raccoon River Conference triangular action against Carlisle and Winterset. The Tiger girls will head to the Warrior Run Golf Course in Norwalk while the boys meet takes place at the Lakeview Country Club in Winterset.
