The 2018 season kicked off Thursday at home for the West Central Valley boys soccer team.The Wildcats welcomed the Creston Panthers to Stuart for a nonconference match. Creston kept West Central Valley off the scoreboard as the Panthers handed the Wildcats a 2-0 loss in their season opener. Creston freshman Clayton Stafford opened the scoring minutes into the match off a throw-in from senior Evan Jacobsen. Jacobsen closed the scoring for Creston in the second half, finding the back of the next with 15 minutes remaining in the match. West Central Valley looks to even their overall record Monday in Ankeny, visiting Grand View Christian for a nonconference match.
