A West Central Valley senior leads the West Central Activities Conference with the longest shot put throw of the season thus far. Grace Dupuy’s best throw came during the Central College Indoor meet on March 24, measuring 36’3.5″. The toss is three inches farther than any other female athlete inside the conference this spring. Dupuy’s first outdoor competition was last Tuesday, setting a new record for the Earlham Early Bird meet with a throw of 34’9″. She signed a letter of intent in October to join the University of Dubuque track and field team this fall. Dupuy and the Wildcat girls track team resume their season on Thursday, taking part in a meet hosted by Interstate 35 Community Schools.
