The Perry Public Library is once again taking part in the All Iowa Reads program, and this Thursday they will host a community book discussion.
This is the 16th year the library has taken part in the statewide event, and this year’s book is “The Boys in the Bunkhouse: Servitude and Salvation in the Heartland,” by Dan Barry. The community is invited to the Perry Library’s large meeting room at 7 p.m. Thursday, where the conversation will be lead by writer and English instructor, George Minot of Iowa City. Copies of the book are available at the library, and the story follows a big mistake made in a small Iowa town that garnered national attention.
All Iowa Reads is a project of the Iowa Center for the Book, and it seeks to foster unity through reading. There is no cost to attend the discussion, and registration is not required. For more information, contact the library at 515-465-3569, or click the link below.
