Greene County was eleventh in a 14 team boys’ track & field meet on Friday in Winterset. Coach Chad Morton’s Rams scored points in six events with the highest finish being third place by junior Noah Bowen in the 1,600 meter run. He was third in 4:47.30, as Bowen lowered his own record in the event for the six seasons the Rams have competed as Greene County.
The other events that placed were the 4 x 400 meter relay, fifth in 3:45.10 with sophomores Carter Morton, Brent Riley, Xavier Hayes, and Colby Kafer, and four sixth place finishes. The distance medley relay was sixth in 4:02.73 with senior Jordan Patterson, Riley, Hayes, and Bowen. The Shuttle hurdle relay was sixth in 1:08.63 with junior Austin Delp, sophomore Nick Breon, Hayes, and Morton. Morton was sixth in the high jump at 5′ 6″, and Kafer tied for sixth place in the long jump at 18′ 9″.
Carlisle edged Nevada 118-116 for the team title with Earlham third at 105. ADM was fourth with 56 points, followed by Winterset 55, Nodaway Valley 41, Woodward-Granger 23, Mount Ayr 22, Clarke (Osceola) 15.5, Greene County 11.5, and Woodward Academy five points.
