The Audubon Wheelerette Early Bird track & field meet was postponed on Thursday. The Greene County girls were to have been in that meet. Coach Derek Merk’s Rams will now have to wait until next week to get their second outdoor meet of the season in the books.

Coach Merk talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about the Early Bird Meet the Rams hosted on Tuesday of this week. The girls finished a close second to North Polk (Alleman) in a four team field. “I think overall we were very happy with it. For that early in the season we had some really great performances including a number of PRs (Personal Records). Brooklyn Olson, a freshman had a PR in the discus. Two freshman long jumper, Brianna Osterson and Lilly Muir each PR’d in the long jump by about 10 inches. Megan Durbin had a great meet with four first place finishes, and she upper her season best in the high jump by an inch, and ran a really nice open 200. Our relays performed really well, so I think it was the best we could have hoped for the first meet of the year.”
