IMG_9854With warm weather on the horizon, another component of summer activities in Guthrie Center is beginning to take shape. Auditions for this summer’s musical, “Six-on-Six: The Musical,” are scheduled for April 16th and 17th at Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School from 4-7pm.

Musical Director Kelsey Moran explains how prospective performers should prepare for the audition. “Basically you need to prepare a one-minute solo. You can either do it acapella or you can bring some sort of recording. As well as be prepared to do some cold reading. Auditions are kind of a first-come, first-served, come and go atmosphere. Very laid back. Basically I just want to know if you can sing and if you are willing to jump on board and do the show with us this summer.”

The show highlights the variation of high school girls basketball in Iowa and is written by Iowa playwright Robert John Ford. To hear more about the show, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
