This Saturday youngsters in Greene County will have several opportunities to receive free candy with Easter egg hunts.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Jefferson Kiwanis Club again to host their annual Easter egg hunt at the Greene County Community Center. Registrations for all toddlers to third graders begins at 9:30am with the hunt to begin at 10. In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be moved inside the community center. Every participant is guaranteed at least one egg. JPRD Director Vicky Lautner talks about what happens following the hunt.

“The businesses will give us coupons and prizes, so then we draw names for those items. The kids will come in after the Easter egg hunt and sit down. Of course most of them go through their Easter eggs. It’s a fun event for families.”

Another opportunity is with the Churdan Library. They will have their Easter egg hunt starting at 9:30am Saturday. Newborns to fourth graders will be split into age groups so that everyone has an equal chance of finding goodies. The event is sponsored by Churdan area businesses and community members.

The Grand Junction Fire and Rescue Unit is also hosting an Easter egg hunt at 1pm in the city park. Registrations begin at noon. The City of Paton is having their Easter egg hunt at 10am at the city park. Registrations will begin prior to the hunt.
