The Greene County Early Bird track & field meet was held Tuesday at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The results saw the Greene County girls finish just three points behind team champion North Polk (Alleman). The Comets scored 92 points to 89 for the Rams. ACGC was third at 59 with Ogden fourth at 54. It was the first outdoor meet of the season for the Rams.

The Rams had eight first place finishes. Senior Megan Durbin was first in all four events she competed in. Durbin won the high jump with a season best leap of 5′ 4″. She won the 200 meter dash in 27.65 seconds and the 400 meter dash in 1:03.90. Durbin anchored the 4 x 100 meter relay to a first place finish in :54.94. Others on the relay were Brianna Osterson, Megan Doran, and Melanie Doran.

Other first place finishes for Greene County were by long jumper Janelle Brophy in a season best 16′ 2″, Melanie Doran in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:16.97, and both the sprint medley relay and 4 x 200 meter relay placed first. The sprint medley was timed in 2:07.05 with Megan Doran, Tieryn Tucker, Makayla Kafer, and Lilly Muir. The 4 x 200 ran 2:03.92 with Tucker, Paige Heaning, Sydney Schiltz, and Kafer.

Next up for Greene County is a Thursday meet in Audubon.
