Greene County Medical Center employees recently earned several awards.
Acute Case Manager and Nurse Allie Hamilton and Public Health Nurse Deb Hoskins received the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative Quality and Safety Award for Achievement in Improving Care Transitions. The award recognizes the work being done at the medical center in regards to care transitions. In an effort to reduce emergency room visits, over the last ten months, emergency staff have made 55-percent more referrals to public health. It allows Hoskins and other public health staff to make follow-up visits and call backs for a patient’s well-being.
The medical center’s 2017 Employee Exemplifying Excellence Award was given to Joanna Sorber, who works at the outpatient desk. The award allows all employees to nominate their co-workers. Sorber was honored with the award at a recent employee recognition ceremony on March 20th. There were 11 nominees. Sorber has been with the medical center since 2011.
