Another of the defendants in the case involving the death of 16-year-old Sabrina Ray of Perry has reportedly reached a plea agreement with the State of Iowa.
According to court documents submitted by Judge Terry Rickers, Carla Bousman, the adoptive grandmother of Sabrina, will have a plea hearing on April 6th at 1:30 p.m., in the Dallas County Courthouse. Details of the plea agreement will be revealed at the time of the hearing. The announcement of Bousman’s plea came just eight days after she had submitted a request for a change of venue. Last month, Sabrina’s adoptive brother Justin Ray, also reached a plea agreement with the State before being sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison.
Bousman is one of four remaining suspects in the May 12, 2017 death of Sabrina. She is being charged with five counts, including: three counts of aiding and abetting kidnapping in the first degree, a class A felony; one count of aiding and abetting child endangerment resulting in death, a class B felony; and one count of obstructing prosecution or defense, an aggravated misdemeanor.
