Adverse weather is being felt across Iowa early Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Greene County until 4pm today. Hazards that are included in the advisory are slippery road conditions, due to periods of rain turning into snowfall. There could be anywhere between two to six inches of snowfall, with a possibility of a thin layer of ice on top. Caution is urged when removing snowfall. Jefferson residents are reminded that the snow ordinance goes into effect anytime there’s at least one-half-inch of snowfall or more. When the ordinance is in effect, vehicles must be removed from city streets and alleyways for crews to remove the snow from curb to curb.

The Department of Transportation is reporting all state roads in Greene County, and some in Guthrie County, are partially covered with rain and snow, while some roads in Dallas County are completely covered.
