The Jefferson Police Department recently released statistics from the previous special Traffic Enforcement Program (sTEP).
During the St. Patrick’s Day holiday sTEP Wave, from March 14th through the 17th, officers issued 12 citations and 77 warnings to motorists. The most citations that were issued were for speed with four. Other citations included: driving without a license, open container of alcohol and no proof of insurance. The most warnings that were given was 15 for both equipment and other traffic violations.
During the St. Patrick’s Day sTEP Wave last year, officers issued eight citations and 137 warnings from over a three-day period. A full report of the results can be found below.
