A local non-profit organization is holding their first-ever fundraiser this Saturday.
The Bringing Optimism and Opportunity to Students and Teachers (BOOST) is hosting the BOOST Bash dinner and fundraiser at the Greene Room events center at Wild Rose in Jefferson. BOOST member Chris Deal says the organization is dedicated to helping Greene County School District teachers with supplementary funds for items like classroom supplies and field trips. Leading up the event, Deal notes that they’ve received lots of community support.
“For the last several months, we’ve been doing a push to get teachers there and sponsor teachers to come there. The community has provided 50 sponsorships to get a significant portion of our staff, teachers and everyone who supports them, to this event. And they don’t have to spend their own money to get there.”
Doors open at 5pm, with a meal to be served at 6:30pm. The auction will wrap up the evening. Some of the auction items include: tickets to Hamilton in Des Moines, a weekend family getaway to King’s Ponte Waterpark, eight reserved tickets to this year’s high school graduation ceremony and more. Plus, there is an option to bid on auction items, even if you’re not going to be at the event. You can register on the BOOST website and click on the “bookkeeping admission” option. You will be able to bid on your mobile device from 5 to 7pm that evening. The link to the website can be found below.
