Misty Ray Carla-Bousman-300x298

Two of the defendants in the case of 16-year-old Sabrina Ray’s death recently joined a third in a request to change the venue of their trials.

According to online court documents, Misty Ray and Carla Bousman, the adoptive mother and grandmother of Sabrina respectively, asked last Friday that the trial be moved out of Dallas County. Their requests followed an identical request made earlier this month by Marc Ray, Sabrina’s adoptive father. The motion claims there has been too much media coverage for the defendants to receive a fair trial from an impartial jury. Court documents indicate the judge for the case, the Honorable Terry Rickers, will consider their requests at a closed hearing to be held on April 25th.

The fourth defendant in the case, Sabrina’s adoptive cousin Josie Bousman, has not requested a change of venue. However, her trial was continued once again, as she will give testimony against the other defendants and will be tried separately. All four were arrested in 2017 for their connection to the May 12th death of Sabrina, which was attributed to severe malnutrition. See below for a full list of charges for each suspect. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information on this case as it’s made official.
