A late day of inclement weather resulted in a busy Friday for the Greene County Sheriff’s office.

According to the Sheriff’s office report, five single vehicle crashes occurred on Friday, but luckily no injuries were reported. Four of them happened within one hour. The first one was just after 5pm on the diagonal of Highway 144 near V Avenue. The driver wasn’t injured and her vehicle, a 2015 Ford Taurus wasn’t damaged.

The next crash was reported at 5:15pm at 210th Street near C Avenue. The driver rolled his 1998 Jeep Cherokee into the ditch and ended up on its top. The driver again wasn’t injured, but his vehicle was totaled. Then three minutes later, another single vehicle rollover was reported at W Avenue and 260th Street. The driver, who wasn’t injured, rolled her 2016 Mountaineer into the ditch and her vehicle was totaled. Less than 20 minutes later, a vehicle had been driven into the ditch at 130th Street near Q Avenue. The 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix wasn’t damaged and the driver wasn’t injured.

The final crash happened just before 10pm at 130th Street and N Avenue. A 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van rolled onto its side. The driver was unharmed and the vehicle was totaled. Greene County Emergency Medical Services and Churdan and Jefferson Fire departments responded to that crash, otherwise, only the Sheriff’s office handled the other incidents.
