Despite returning only one state qualifier from last spring, West Central Valley first-year head boys track coach Eric Addy says there are other athletes with previous experience back out for the sport this spring. Addy spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio recently about storylines ahead of the 2018 campaign later this month. Addy, West Central Valley’s head football coach the past three seasons, is excited to see how his junior quarterback Carson Wadle will do as a discus thrower this spring. “He started to come on late last season; he started to get his feet underneath him,” Addy said, “He was coming back from an injury the previous year, so it’ll be nice to see his growth as a track athlete.”
Wadle’s top throw measured last season went 132′ 6″, nearly 16 feet farther than anyone else on West Central Valley’s squad. The mark wasn’t in the top five overall results last season from competitors inside the West Central Activities Conference. The West Central Valley boys track season starts Monday, March 26th at the Earlham Early Bird Invitational.
