This week Panora Emergency Medical Services installed an upgrade to two of their ambulances. The vehicles are now equipped with automated power lift systems.
These devices will lift a stretcher into the ambulance, removing the necessity for personnel to manually lift those needing medical attention. The lifts can hoist up to 800-pounds, which should reduce the risk of back injuries for the department, and will make the process significantly safer for individuals on the stretcher. The department received the bulk of the funds from two estate donations. Panora EMS thanks the public for their support in securing the new equipment.
