Relay for Life of Guthrie County is highlighting the great outdoors in their annual relay this summer. The organization recently announced their Campin’ Out to Kick Cancer event June 15-16 at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds Event Center and Grandstand.
The main portion of the event will be from 4-8pm on the 15th, which includes: the walk, dinner, silent and live auctions, and other presentations. Following the relay, The Pale Moons will perform in concert in the Grandstand from 8:30-10:30. The cost is $10 per person and survivors get in free.
Relay for Life Senior Community Manager and Guthrie County spokesperson Kim Durst talks about the special theme and plans following the relay. “We’re inviting everybody to camp. That’s Father’s Day weekend, so that’s where we got the camping out (theme). There are going to be activities on Saturday. There’ll be a bags tournament. Then there could possibly be an event that evening sponsored by the Guthrie County Fair Board.”
