Greene County began the high school girls track & field season on Monday inside the comfort of the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls for the A.D. Dickinson Relays. Derek Merk is in his first season as the Rams’ girls’ head coach. The coach took a little more than half the squad to the Dome.

The highest placing by a Greene County athlete came from senior high jumper Megan Durbin. According to official results on the UNI track & field website, she finished in a tie for second place at 5′ 3″, which was higher than her indoor debut a season ago. There were more than 60 high jumpers in the field.

Long jump- Janelle Brophy, 14′ 10″, and Brianna Osterson 14′ 6″.

Shot put- Onica Delp 31′ 1″, and Laurin Lyons 31′ 0″.

60 meter hurdles- Melanie Doran :10.58; Izzy Bravard :11.19; Makayla Kafer 12.26.

60 meter dash- Durbin 8.44, and Tiern Tucker 9.19.

400 mete dash- Osterson 1:09.29; Lilly Muir 1:11.84; Sydney Schiltz 1:18.28.

200 meter dash- Brophy :30.48; Tucker :31.03; Paige Heaning :31.67.

4 x 200 meter relay- 2:03.03 (Doran- Schiltz-Heaning-Kafer).

First year boys’ head coach Chad Morton takes about 10 athletes to the boys portion of the Dickinson Relays inside the UNI-Dome today.
