The Perry Police Department has arrested a man in connection to the vandalism of the historic Sinclair Station.

Friday morning, officers arrested 46-year-old William W. Lawrence of Perry and charged him with 5th degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor. Police were able to identify Lawrence thanks to surveillance video from both Sinclair and Fareway, as well as information from the public. The arrest came after Lawrence allegedly punched out the glass of the left gas pump at the recently restored tourist locale late last Saturday. The incident was caught on camera and shared with the Perry Police, who used it in their investigation.
