The high school basketball career of Panorama senior Devyn Kemble isn’t done quite yet. The Panthers girls basketball team closed their season Wednesday in the Class 2A Girls State Quarterfinal round, falling to the North Union Warriors, 47-46. Kemble has been chosen to represent Panorama at a pair of All-Star basketball games this spring.
She’s one of 10 athletes selected for the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association’s Southwest Girls squad. The IBCA All-Star games are set for March 24th at the Meadows Gymnasium in Grimes. Kemble is also one of 30 Class 2A girls basketball players selected to the Larry Niemeyer Senior All-Star game held at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids on April 8. She’s been selected to play for the 2A select team. Kemble has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball and track careers for Northwestern College in Orange City.
Kemble was one of five seniors who played a vital role in the success of Panorama girls basketball this season. She ranked second on the team with 348 points scored, eclipsing 1,000 career varsity points earlier this season. Wednesday’s loss to North Union snapped a 22 game overall winning streak for Panorama, ending their season with a record of 23 wins and two losses. Expected to graduate from the program along with Kemble this May includes Faith Powell, Kellie Prince, Nicole Rolfes, and Hope Wilderman.
