The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday.
The Council adopted the City’s 2019 fiscal year budget following a public hearing on the topic in which no comments were made. The budget covers City functions through June 30th, 2019.
The Council also had a goal setting session with Region XII Council of Governments. Goals discussed included: annexation, business expansion, implementing emergency response plans, and air quality. No formal action was taken by the Council.
Other action items approved by the Board include: appointments to the Parks and Recreation and Planning and Zoning Boards, and the first reading of an ordinance to disallow operation of golf carts on City streets as presented. The meeting concluded with continued discussion on golf carts on City streets and on the sale of a City owned 1996 Ford F350 truck. The Council approved to advertise the sale of the truck on social media, with a minimum purchase price of $750.
