As North Union sophomore Chloe Lofstrom split a pair of free throws with less than 20 seconds remaining, Panorama trailed 47-46 with the basketball and a chance to move onto the semifinal round of the Class 2A Girls State Basketball tournament. The 10th lead change of the game proved to be the final one as Panorama junior Bailey Beckman missed a pair of open shots, including a straightaway three-pointer as time expired, helping the Warriors of North Union survive with a one-point quarterfinal win. Beckman set up the game’s final shot by stealing a North Union inbound pass near half court.
Beckman ended the game as Panorama’s leading scorer with 13 points, grabbing five rebounds and registering five steals in the setback. Senior Devyn Kemble added nine points, nine rebounds, and three assists in her final high school basketball game. Lofstrom highlighted North Union with a team-best 14 points and nine rebounds, helping the Warriors to their first state tournament win in program history. The loss snaps a 22 game winning streak for Panorama, ending the Panthers season at 23-2 overall. The Panthers lose Kemble, Kellie Prince, Faith Powell, Nicole Rolfes, and Hope Wilderman,
