The Guthrie Center City Council will meet in regular session tonight.
The Council will review a request from the Parks and Recreation Board for matching funds for a grant through the Guthrie County Community Foundation to resurface the tennis and basketball courts at Mitchell Park. The Council believes the court resurfacing, while not the most dire concern at the park, is the easiest to achieve in a short time. Later in the meeting, the Council will continue discussion on the needs assessment for the park’s bathhouse and restroom renovations.
The Council will also consider for approval the second reading of an ordinance to remove time restrictions for snow and ice removal on sidewalks. They also have the option to waive the third reading if there is no public objection after the second reading. Other action items include: a Region XII Housing Rehab Grant application for Fiscal Year 2019-2020, a request for chickens in City limits, officially setting the public hearing on the City’s budget, and renewing the 28E agreement with the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office for police services.
The meeting begins at 6:30pm at Guthrie Center City Hall.
