perry chamber

The Perry Chamber of Commerce is always looking for ways to encourage people to shop local and keep their money in town, and one method that’s proved very effective is Perry Bucks.

Chamber Board President Emily Leslie says Perry Bucks can be used just like cash at any business with Chamber membership, even if at first glance it wouldn’t seem like a place you could spend them. “You can come into the office and get, like say $20 in Perry Bucks. And then you can spend them within the Chamber membership. So say you want to go to the movie, and you’ve got that Perry Buck in your wallet or your purse, you can use that $20 at the movie theater instead of your cash. Or, they make great gifts! It’s like the Perry gift card that can go all over town.”

Some things you may not have known you could use Perry Bucks on include paying library fines, attending athletic events at Perry High School, or even paying your garbage bill. The only restriction is they must be Chamber members, but the membership is much more broad than you might think, including everything from Hy-Vee, to Ben’s Five and Dime, to Dallas County Hospital.
