The Iowa High School Speech Association District Individual Contest is tomorrow.
Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray says 13 students are taking 17 pieces to the district competition. Students include: Avery Bardole, Arthur Bardole, Kara Betts, Emma McColley, Maezie Holderby, Jordan Davis, Naomi Long, Natalie Payan, Kassie Lamoureux, Regan Lamoureux, Josey Weaver, Kaitlin Tjostem, and Morrgan Zmolek. The events include: solo musical theater, storytelling, poetry, prose, literary program, acting and reviewing.
Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Stephanie Pace says there are eight students competing in 13 events. The students participating include: Megan Carey, Briana Jewett, Jenna Beyers, Carter Meseck, Kyla Beyers, Madi Minnehan, Karissa Stephenson and Hannah Bundt. The different events include: prose, poetry, musical theatre, radio news, public address and literary program.
Students that receive a Division I-rating will advance onto the state contest held on Saturday, March 3rd.
The district contest will be at Boone High School tomorrow. Cost to attend is a donation of $3 per person. A full list of what each student is performing can be found below.
