The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Wednesday evening released the postseason brackets for all classes of basketball, and the Panorama Panthers drew the second seed in the Class 2A tournament. The Panthers make their debut at Wells Fargo Arena Wednesday morning in the quarterfinal round against the North Union Warriors (20-2 overall) of the Top of Iowa Conference. North Union High School is based in Armstrong, eight and a half miles south of the Iowa/Minnesota state line. The Warriors are making their first-ever appearance in the girls state basketball tournament after winning the Class 2A Region 1 championship Monday night in Hartley by upsetting fourth-ranked Western Christian, 50-48, on a last-second bank shot from senior Hallie Reese. Sophomore forward Chloe Lofstrom highlights the Warriors, averaging a team-best 17 points and nine rebounds a contest. North Union is undefeated away from Armstrong this season with both setbacks coming at home against league opponents Forest City (41-37-1/16/2018) and Osage (64-53-2/6/2018).
Panorama and North Union is the final Class 2A quarterfinal game scheduled at Wells Fargo Arena. The teams will face one another Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. with live play by play coverage on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network starting at 11:15 a.m. on True Country K 107.9.
