Greene County CattlemenThe Greene County Cattlemen’s Association is hosting their annual banquet and trophy auction this weekend.

The event will be held Saturday at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. It starts with a social time at 6pm, followed by a prime rib dinner at 6:30. The live auction will wrap up the evening. President Tom Lawton says they will announce the 2017 scholarship recipients as well. Last year, over $9,000 in scholarships were given to high school graduates. He adds that there will be an auction item made by Olson Iron Works in honor of the late Pat Fields, who passed away in a tractor-related accident last year, with all the funds to be donated to the Cattlemen’s scholarship fund.

Other money that is raised at the annual fundraiser will go back to the Cattlemen to support projects throughout the year, including 4-H and youth activities, as well as participation in beef promotions at the county, state and national levels.

Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased from any Cattlemen member, at the Greene County Extension office or at the door.
